Game of the Month

In this month's Electronic Gaming Monthly we see a few bridges from the past reopen for business. It seems like it was good thing the bridges were kept intact, as a few new games with familiar characters look pretty promising. Do Street Fighter, Golden Axe, Bionic Commando, Commando, Tecmo Bowl, and Super Mario ring any bells?

Street Fighter IV
I am not sure if it's possible but Street Fighter almost left the video game world's collective conscience when the last Street Fighter II machines were wheeled out of the world's arcades. Yes there was a Street Fighter III, but it ran into the slump that is usually reserved for sophomore sequels. The fourth iteration may very well be a classic in the making in its own right. It's similar to previous Street Fighters in that the game plays in the familiar 2 dimensional, face to face fighting style. Where the game shines is the addition of 3 dimensional graphics backed by a decade of technological improvements. This is the beauty of the game, joining the old with the new. Capcom also announced the return from retirement of your old fighting buddies Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Dhalsim. Check this one out as soon as possible. In the mean time Capcom's trailer for the game is a must see.

EGM Reviews Summary
This month's winner was Super Mario Galaxy. If it wasn't for Jeremy who gave Super Mario Galaxy a 9.5, Mario would have had a Platinum Award to place on his mantle as well. Which means Shoe and Shane gave Super Mario Galaxy a 10, for those of you who don't know EGM's rating system. Jeremy, who obviously is jealous of Mario and his fame, robbed the poor man of what he deserves. He was annoyed by a few lapses of the camera controls and the coin collection stages after the game is won.
